3 Lessons Learned: Running My First Ultra Marathon 100K (62.13 miles)

3 Lessons Learned: Running My First Ultra Marathon 100K (62.13 miles)

I completed my first Ultra Marathon and took away a lot of lesson that I’m going to take into the my next race! This was my first official race that was more than 5k (outside of training) and almost twice as long then I ever ran. Training went well, but I got crushed on the course. Finished at 14:04:11!

There were 3 big things I learned:

-Maintain calorie intake throughout the race
-Booty Chafing!
-Embrace the PAIN CAVE

I’m ramping up for my first 100 mile race and hope to take all these lessons to the mountains of Virginia. I learned so much during my time in the 75th Ranger Regiment, but these runs are forcing me to continue to push forward and learn.
